UFC is incredibly indebted to the Make It Better Foundation (MIBF), a philanthropic organisation based in the USA, that identifies, supports and amplifies impactful non-profit set-ups primarily focussed on education, health and social services. Through its Philanthropy Awards it provides over US$1.25 million annually in unrestricted funding and media exposure to, or through collaboration with organisations driving significant social change, principally in the US. However, UFC were very generously granted a 2026 Philanthropy Award of US$10,000 in a slight departure from MITB’s usual recipients, in that UFC is not a US organisation and because of the nature of the aid that we provide for Ukraine.
Our work resonated, in particular, with MIBF’s Founder, Susan Noyes, who 2 of our long-standing volunteers, Andy and Angie Canning, were introduced to in 2025. They briefed Susan on our entirely volunteer based, not-for-profit undertakings and Susan, along with her team, who resonated with UFC’s work, kindly ensured that we gained this significant award.
